Benicia is a historic seaside town that is a great place to spend a daytrip or afternoon outing. Your first stop should be the railroad depot at the end of First Street. There you will be greeted by pleasant faces who will give you a map of Benicia and a historic walking tour from the Benicia Historical Society. Some of the more interesting spots on the map are the Benicia State Capital (circa 1852), Jack London’s haunts, and the Union Hotel, which is reportedly haunted.
